Three years ago, in the heart of Nalutuntu, Uganda, a remarkable young woman named Olive Hajalah saw something special—a village filled with bright young minds yearning for opportunity. With just six dedicated teachers and 100 eager students, the school began as a simple yet powerful dream—a place where every child, regardless of background, could receive a quality education and a chance for a better future. As the school grew, 2024 became a milestone year when Kizza Julius, Ssengoba Joseph and Lina Diaz Rodriguez joined the mission, bringing fresh energy, expertise, and a shared commitment to expanding the school's impact. Children of Peace school is a sanctuary of love, hope, and opportunity, dedicated to nurturing young minds and fostering peace within our community and beyond. For our community peace is not a monolithic concept, but something that can exist in many forms and across diverse communities, groups and religions. Our children will grow up to be the peacemakers, community leaders, and advocates for social change in Uganda and beyond.
"Our mission is to empower children to become compassionate leaders who can transform their communities. By cultivating empathy, self-awareness, and problem-solving skills, we envision a future where these children grow into ambassadors of peace in Uganda and beyond."
The school is founded on the belief that every child has unique strengths and ways of learning. Based on Howard Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences, the curriculum and activities are tailored to nurture all eight intelligences, helping children discover and develop their full potential.
Our campus features six beautiful wooden classrooms, blending perfectly with the natural surroundings. With fresh air, open spaces, and the sounds of birds singing, our school offers a peaceful and inspiring environment where children can learn, play, and grow. The simple yet warm setting reflects our belief that education thrives not in fancy buildings, but in a place filled with love, laughter, and endless possibilities.
